Launch Out Into The Deep

Hey yall!…,lol

Welcome to Selah Wood Designs and welcome to my first blog!! (dancing)

Hmmmmmmmm….

Soooo, I decided to write this blog because I love to write. I actually like to writing more than I do talking. (Dont act surprised). I have thousands of journals with thoughts, prayers, drawing, poems, painting, flowers, and so much more. It is so peaceful to me. It helps me think, express myself, and to just write to God. I encourage everyone to get a journal, it will change your life.! Dont say you dont know how to write, try it and I guarantee it will blow your mind. When you have no one to talk to you can talk to God and write it down so you can go back and see just how good he is. God is faithful.

Annyywwayysss! So for my first blog,

it will be called….

LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP

So! For the last few weeks, God has been giving me the phrase “launch out into the deep”.

I just keep hearing that phrase. I’m like Lord, what are you trying to tell me? So I started dissecting that thing. lol

The first scripture to come up was Luke 5:4 NKJV.

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

But that wasn’t enough. I had to get a full understanding, so I read the whole thing. (Luke 5:1-11)

While reading this so many things came up for me to think about. In this story, Jesus saw two boats. The fisherman had left them to wash the nets. Jesus got into one of the boats and started teaching. After teaching, he asked Simon to LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP and let down his nets. Simon said “ we have been trying all night and caught nothing but AT YOUR WORD, I will let down my net. VERSE 6 and 7 says “And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, so much that their nets began to break.” 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

Can you say overflow!!!! Simon went crazy lol. He ended up getting on his knees and telling God he wasn’t worthy because he was a sinful man (repentance). The GOODNESS OF GOD LEADS TO REPENTANCE. Simon and all his friends were amazed by what happened. Jesus said to Simon DON’T BE AFRAID, from now on you will catch men. So they brought their boat in and left everything to follow Jesus.

When reading this, I was so blessed. It was definitely a light bulb moment.

I encourage you to “launch out into the deep”. God wants to bless us in ways we don’t even imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Notice in Verse 4 nets is plural. God wants to give us more than what we need. Dream big, but God wants to exceed these dreams and our expectations.

In the deep is where there are a alot of fish. You won’t find that in the shallow waters. In the scripture, Jesus told Simon to launch out and Simon said we haven’t caught anything all day. In other words, “I’M TIRED”!! Lol but AT YOUR WORD. Sometimes it just might not make sense but that’s what faith is. You don’t see it, but you believe it. Like the song Way maker, it says even when I don’t see it, he’s working. When God tells you to do something, its for a reason, he sees the big picture. Out of Simon’s obedience, he received overflow. He was able to follow Jesus, and became a fisher of MEN. What a blessing!

God wants us to break free of our comfort zones and step out in faith (That what I’m doing right now). It’s so beautiful because you really have to totally rely on him. Breaking free from your comfort zone may be singing that song God put in your heart, starting that business, talking to that person in Target that God told you to say something to, using your gifts, or joining that church group you have been scared to join. Whatever it is, JUST DO IT!! Like the Nike sign lol. God will give you strength. God sees the bigger picture. He usually tells us to do things for ourselves, YES! but also to help others. So today I just encourage everyone to JUST DO IT. Step out on the water, launch out into the deep, and trust God to show you the way. And like Jesus said in verse 10, DON’T BE AFRAID. Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. He/the word is a light even in the darkest places. He is that SURE THING. When no one understands, he does. God loves you. He cares for you. If you know him, share that love with others. If you don’t, I encourage you to get to know him. He is AMMAZZIINGGG!!! Lol well until next time…. SELAH!
